Amazon Air Cuts European Flights, Expands Presence in South America

Amazon's Prime Air is scaling back flight operations in Europe while increasing its presence in South America. The company terminated its charter agreement with Silver Airways, resulting in the loss of 5 aircraft. Although European cargo flights are being reduced, package deliveries are not expected to be delayed.

Prime Air's hub in Leipzig, Germany, operated by ASL Airlines Ireland, will continue operations with Boeing 737-800BCF aircraft.

The focus on South America will involve partnering with Air Transport International for cargo flights to Colombia, Peru, and Ecuador using Boeing 767-300F aircraft. Amazon's strategy reflects a shift toward ground operations to meet customer demands. source

Venus Aerospace's Stargazer: The Hypersonic Jet Aiming for LA to Tokyo in One Hour

US startup Venus Aerospace is developing a Mach 9 hypersonic jet called Stargazer, capable of carrying up to 12 passengers and completing a 5,000-mile journey in just one hour. The company aims to bring back the era of supersonic travel, which ended with the retirement of the Concorde in 2003.

Venus Aerospace is joining other ambitious players in the field, including Boom Supersonic, Destinus, and Hermeus, who are all working on hypersonic planes.

Venus Aerospace's co-founders, Sassie Duggleby (CEO) and Andrew Duggleby (CTO), discussed their plans for Stargazer at the Paris Airshow, highlighting their vision for ultra-fast commercial aviation. source
