FAA Announces Monthly Training to Curb Air Traffic Close Calls
The FAA has initiated an enhanced monthly training program for its air traffic controllers following a series of near-collisions that have raised public and regulatory concerns.
The training, which seeks to reduce such incidents, will cover measures to lessen airport surface events and adapt to data-driven and seasonal safety issues.
The FAA has also enacted changes in control towers and facilities, including greater supervisor engagement during peak periods. This initiative is part of the FAA's wider aim to achieve zero near-collisions by fostering a safety-focused culture among its staff. source
